This is something I think a lot about. What if the story of your life IS a joke? Is it okay to tell a joke then? XD Other than #7, that's the only one I disagree with. I've seen some speeches that incorporate jokes very well. Like writing your speech word-for-word, it can be a good tool or good way to distance yourself from your audience, depending on how you use it. I'm writing my first Real Serious Speech right now, so this is kinda a big thing on my mind at the moment. I would love to hear you say more about authentic sales/marketing.
