At some point, I decided that if I had something nice to say about someone, I'd say it. Most folks appreciate it.

I'm late reading your post, but it speaks to me. Sometimes just acknowledging invisible people and having a conversation can be uplifting to them. Think about the clerks in retail stores and cashiers at the supermarket. They are often invisible since people often view them as a conduit to get out of the store. Good on you.

Yay compliments! I do seek out people to compliment, though sometimes I wonder if I should find something other than their fashion sense. But some people dress REALLY AWESOME.

My sister was telling me the other day about two of her friends who had some free time at a festival and decided to randomly compliment people. It took off so well that they became the Complimentary Society and they became a HUGE hit. hee!

Kyeli, I love it!!

I actually - purposefully - try to uplift someone who is in a funk. Like if I am getting crappy customer service, for instance. 9 times out of 10 I can get them to completely rearrange their attitude, simply by playing with them.

I think I just have to try the conscious complimenting!!
