I HATED the weather there. I had no idea what hot really meant. I hated that it grew so many things that bit and stung and made me not able to just turn over a rock. I hated how the evergreen trees puked pollen during the only time of the year it wasn’t miserably hot.

What I discovered was I really wanted to live in a place where the weather is more moderate. Portland, despite its rain, seems to work for me. If you miss the cold here, you just drive an hour to the mountains and snow. If it gets too hot, you drive an hour in the other direction to the chillier coast.

Of course, we like to emphasize the continuous rain so too many people don’t move here. Really, we have a lot of sun breaks and some glorious warm weather in February. Certainly there is room for the Pace and Kyeli clan however.

I go back and forth on the weather thing. I really like autumn, and really DON’T like winter. I like it cool, but NOT cold. If I could live somewhere that had autumn all year round, and never winter, that would be PERFECT.
